                                      CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS
Berry Benson Chapter 2584 of North Augusta, SC, announces the arrival of the 2008
ornament, the BONNIE BLUE FLAG.  This year’s ornament represents the fifth in a
FLAGS OF THE CONFEDERACY that the chapter has been selling for the past four
years. Each ornament is hand crafted in Poland and numbered.   This project began
with the first Old Harvest Ball in 2004.  We use these ornaments as our major fund
raiser for the Old South Ball held each year on the first Saturday of December.  
The first ornament produced of this series was the Battle Flag, second in 2005 was
the First National Flag or the Daughters’ Flag, third came the Second National Flag in
2006 (Children’s Flag), fourth was the Third National Flag last year and now this year Bonnie Blue.  
There are some of each ornament still available.  Each ornament is $20.00 plus $2.95 to ship.  For more

Cherokee District, United Daughters of the Confederacy, has

I Know What I Know-Stories of the
Confederate Years
.  This book is compiled of stories of soldiers during
and after the War; hard times in the Confederacy; soldiers who served
from the Cherokee District and outside our district; historic places in
Cherokee District; monuments and markers; UDC chapters (both
active and disbanded) in Cherokee District; and many other interesting
stories and facts.
