Welcome to the South Carolina Division,
United Daughters of the Confederacy

A message from the South Carolina Division President,
Ann P. Shugart

Warmer weather, sunshine, colorful flowers and plants are signs of spring. We welcome its arrival in South Carolina.

District meetings have begun. Chapter members are encouraged to attend their District meeting. Division Officer Workshops are being held during each meeting.

Did you know South Carolina was the first Division to be divided into Districts? This was done upon the recommendation of Division President Mrs. R. D. Wright of Newberry, 1908‑1909. The first four districts were Edisto, Pee Dee, Piedmont and Ridge. The first District Conferences were held in the spring of 1910.

Plans are underway for Confederate Memorial Day Services to be held throughout our state. We must never forget the sacrifices of those brave Confederate soldiers who so honorably defended our Southland.

Our 2017 South Carolina Division Convention will be held September 28‑30, 2017. The Edisto District will host our Division convention. Save the date and plan to attend!

May we continue to work together as we achieve the objectives of our beloved Organization.
