Welcome to the South Carolina Division,
United Daughters of the Confederacy

A message from the South Carolina Division President,
Ann P. Shugart

Autumn is such a wonderful time of the year! Leaves are turning vibrant colors. The air is fragrant, crisp and cool. Thanksgiving is just around the corner.

Hurricane Matthew caused much destruction in our Low Country. I have not heard of any injury or loss of life to our daughters or their families and, for that, we are all thankful. As with all things in life, this was not of our making but was God's work.

Our South Carolina Division Convention scheduled for October 6-8, 2016, in North Charleston was cancelled because of Hurricane Matthew. Edisto District Chapter members had worked tirelessly to make this a memorable convention.

Award certificates, which were to be presented during the Awards Luncheon at Division convention, will be presented at our Executive Board Meeting on December 3, 2016. I hope all members of the Executive Board will be in attendance.

Let us now go forward with our objectives and rededicate ourselves as "United Daughters." There are wonderful opportunities in the work of the UDC. Our goals can be achieved when we respect each other and desire to help others.
